Our founder Mark Welch was born in Taunton in 1955 and can trace his Somerset roots all the way back to the early 17th Century, from the nearby village of Cothelstone, where his ancestors were gamekeepers and for generations “worked the land” at The Manor and surrounding farms. Mark commenced his jewellery career in 1974 and over the next 11 years developed his experience and honed his skills across the West Country and into Wales. Returning to Taunton in 1985 he set up his own retail shop and workshop in a tiny 200 sq ft premises in the High Street. After three years the shop was bursting at the seams and the decision was made to relocate to the much larger site we still occupy today. Now, with Mark recently retired, his son Oliver has taken over the reins. We are still proud to be completely independent and family owned.

We stock a carefully curated collection of New, Vintage and Antique jewellery. In particular the antique selection represents an impressive and very wearable collection from the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras, through to post war Retro, the Sixties and 2000s
